How to make
- Hele werkwoord zonder “to” (walk/live/arrive): I live here
- He/she/it + s (walks/lives/arrives): She lives here
- negative: don’t + hele werkwoord: I don’t live here
   He/she/it negative: doesn’t + hele werkwoord: He doesn’t live here
- Question: do or does at beginning of sentence + hele werkwoord
      - Do you live in Zwolle?
      - Does she live in Zwolle?

Past simple
Gebruikt om dingen te beschrijven die in het verleden zijn gebeurd. Eigenlijk net als de present simple: fact and habits, but in the past.
- I met my partner in 2016
- In primary school, I walked to school every day
- I lived in Hattem for 18 years

Negative, questions
The past simple also has a negative (ontkennend) and a question form
- Negative: Didn't + hele werkwoord (ja ja, is raar)
     - I didn't go on holiday last year
     - He didn't send me an invitation
- question: did vooraan de zin + hele werkwoord
     - Did you go to corfe castle when you were in England?
     - Did you do anything fun while you were there?

Asking WH- questions

wie - who: who did you meet at the pub?
wat - what: what did you do when you were in London?
wanneer- when: when does she go to school
waar - where: where did you stay?
waarom - why: why is he talking to her? - why isn't he talking to her?
