What was the past simple again?

To tell something happened yesterday, last week, last month, last year, five year ago.
 verb+ed = past simple.

cleaned → wrong time expression. Use "cleaned" with "yesterday", or change to "am cleaning" for "now"

open → opened; say → said → Correct sentence: He opened the door and said hello.
