What is Some & Any?

Some and Any 

Some en Any betekenen allebei enige / enkele / een paar

When some, when any? That depends on the sentence.

• in bevestigende zin:   some
  
• in ontkennende zin:    any
  
• in vragende zin:   any, maar some als je het antwoord ja verwacht
  

something / anything = iets       not … anything = niets

somebody / anybody = iemand       not … anybody = niemand

someone / anyone = iemand          not … anyone = niemand

somewhere / anywhere = ergens      not … anywhere = nergens

My mum bought ....... fruit.

What is the Gerund?

Gerund 

A gerund (verb + -ing) is used as a noun. 

Use:

 as a subject

Singing is fun!

Having a friend like you is great.

Gerund

After verbs like:

love: I love travelling.

stop: They stopped seeing each other.

start: Abigail always starts planning the minute she gets homework.

enjoy: They enjoy swimming.

Use: 

Use Who when you are talking about a person (personen).

Verb (werkwoord) + -ed

Jimmy needed to see the doctor.

Verbs ending in -e  --> -d

Anne died in 1982. 

John lived in England.

Verbs ending in a -y   --> -ied

He studied in London.

she cried when Bobbie, her dog died. 

Verbs ending in a medeklinker --> doubled + -ed

He stopped living in London last month. 

She travelled around the world.

Wat betekent 'will' in de zin
'I will help you!'

Will

Will gebruik je om aan te geven dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren. 

I will get a new TV soon.

 --->  

Ik zal binnenkort een nieuwe TV krijgen.

Formule

will + hele werkwoord

Voorbeeld: He will eat a burger.

Vragende zinnen

Bij vragen zet je 'will' voor het onderwerp.

Will he see us again? (let op= geen voorstel)

Bij vragen met 'I' en 'we' gebruik je 'shall' in plaats van 'will'.

Shall we go on a date? (=wel een voorstel)

Uitleg

Wanneer gebruiken we de past simple? (verleden tijd)

Om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden gebeurde en voorbij is.

For example - She talked to her friend yesterday.

Uitleg

Wanneer gebruiken we de past continuous? (Duurvorm verleden tijd)

Als iets een tijdje aan de gang was in het verleden

For example - The phone was ringing loudly.
