Je kan er dus een nummer voor zetten en ze hebben een meervoudsvorm, bijvoorbeeld: one banana, two bananas, three bananas, etc..

Je kan er dus géén nummer voor zetten en ze hebben géén meervoudsvorm
We kunnen dus niet zeggen: one music, two                               musics, three musics, etc..

Voorbeelden zijn: rice, music, water, time, food.
Let op: Soms kan een zelfstandig naamwoord zowel telbaar als ontelbaar zijn. Dit hangt af van  de betekenis in de zin!
