Present tence

Simple present = tegenwoordige tijd

Present perfect = voltooid tegenwoordige tijd

Present continuous = onvoltooid tegenwoordige tijd

Present perfect continuous = onbepaalde tijd

Past tence

Simple past = verleden tijd

Past perfect = voltooid verleden tijd

Past continuous = onvoltooid verleden tijd

Past perfect continuous = onbepaalde tijd

Present simple

Gebruik je bij:

• Feiten
• Gewoonten
• Dingen die we met regelmaat doen

Voorbeelden

• This book has a red color (feit)
• Bart always bites his nails (gewoonten)
• These kids often play with each other (regelmatigheid)

Extra uitleg

Vaak staan er in een zin signaalwoorden , woorden die aangeven dat de zin  in present simple / tegenwoordige tijd staat. Bijvoorbeeld; always, never, frequently, often, sometimes, seldom, on Saturdays, in the weekend, during the week.

Hoe maak je de present simple?

I run home = Ik ren naar huis.

You run home = Jij rent naar huis.

He runs home = Hij rent naar huis.

She runs home = Zij rent naar huis.

It runs home= Het rent naar huis.

Extra uitleg

Vaak staan er in een zin signaal woorden die aangeven dat de zin in de past simple / verleden tijd staat. Bijvoorbeeld: yesterday, last week, last year, three days ago, a long time ago, in 1989.

Hoe maak je de past simple?

De basisregel = schrijf -ed achter de stam 

• to talk: I talked to Jim this morning.
• to watch: We watched the match yesterday.
• to play: She played with her brother.
• to walk: Last week, they walked towards the forest.
