Warm-Up: Emotion Charades
Let’s act out different feelings. Can you guess which emotions we are showing?
Identifying Emotions
What makes us feel different emotions? Notice how your body feels when you are happy, sad or angry.
Being told “no” or having a request refused
Someone taking their turn or interrupting play
Loud or unexpected noises
Feeling misunderstood or ignored
Being rushed or asked to hurry up
A mistake in work or in a game
Being left out of a group activity
Things that may trigger an emotional response from your body.

Common body signals:
Heart beating faster (like “butterflies”)
Stomach feeling funny or tight
Shoulders tense
Fists clenched or jaw tight
Fidgety or shaky hands
Heavy breathing or quick breaths
Headache or wanting to rub eyes
Feeling warm or flushed
These clues can help us recognise what we are feeling before it becomes overwhelming.
