When do you use it?
Je gebruikt de present perfect om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden begonnen is en nu nog bezig is:

1. He has lived here for six years. (Hij woont hier al zes jaar, dus nu nog steeds.)
2. He has played with this band since 1990. (Hij speelt bij deze band sinds 1990, nu nog steeds.)

Ook gebruik je de present perfect  
om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden begonnen is en nu nog invloed heeft of waarvan het resultaat nog merkbaar of zichtbaar is:

1. She has passed her driving test. (Zij heeft in het verleden haar rijexamen gehaald, en mag dus steeds rijden.)
2. It has rained. The streets are still wet. (Het regent nu niet meer, maar het gevolg is nog steeds te zien: de straten zijn nog nat.)
 Dus… De present perfect zegt iets over: 
 1) is het verleden en 2) is het nu.

Regelmatige werkwoorden:
Has/have + voltooid deelwoord. 
Regelmatige werkwoorden krijgen –ed erachter: It has rained a lot. 
Wanneer het werkwoord al op een –e eindigt voeg je alleen een –d toe: I have always hated that man! 
Wanner het werkwoord eindigt op een medeklinker + y krijg je ‘ied’ erachter: Toronto Police have identified the man responsible for the murder.

Je gebruikt dan ook vaak ever en never:
