How to make an escape room?

2. Form to get some ideas for your escaperoom 
3. Handout to fill in your escape room
4. Requirements of your escaperoom

What do you need to make a good escape room?

A good escape room has: 
1. A theme (for example football, history, Amsterdam, Harderwijk, Rijksmuseum)
2. A story at the beginning (why are we here?)
3. A goal to achieve (what do you need to solve to get out? a murder/ a robery or ??)
4. Puzzles (what kind of puzzles are you going to use?)

Workshops
You need information before you can make an escape room. That's why we have organised two workshops:
- storytelling
- puzzles

Important things!
1. You have today and thursday to make the escape room.
2. You can earn coins with every activity we do. 
3. The parents will play the escaperoom on thursday evening. Please notify: your escape room will be played two times! Make sure you can play it twice. 
4. Work together and distribute the tasks. Make sure everyone does something so you will be done on time. 
5. On thursday we'll test the escape room. Make sure you'll write everything down in the guideline (form in your folder).

Play an escaperoom 


You are going to play different puzzles, which are part of an escaperoom. The puzzles are in Dutch or in English, so work together to solve the puzzles and find the codes!

And now?
Your workshops start at ...... First, you are going to start with thinking about your escaperoom. 

Use the rest of your time to find:
- 4/5 short intro’s of an escaperoom on Youtube.
- 1 short movie with tips to make an escaperoom.
- 3 or 4 different puzzles you can use. 
- Fill this in on the page in your folder. You might use it again!

This has to be in your story:
1. Your story has a place (where)
2. It has something to do with Amsterdam (football, history) or the Rijksmuseum (please control your subject with your teacher)
3. Are you telling the story/filming it on location? How are you going to tell?
4. Don't make it too long (1-3 minutes) 
5. Use the form to come up with a story or use the internet and materials in the room. GOOD LUCK!
