I know when to use the Present Continuous

Present Continuous
You use the present continuous in 3 situations:
  • to say that something is happening right now.
  • for activities that last longer
  • to express annoyance or irritation

I am buying clothes at H&M (--> right now, you're in the shop) vs. I always/never buy clothes at H&M (--> it's a habit; Pr. Simple)

Present Continuous
To form the Present Continuous:      verb  to be   +   main verb [+ ing]

they                   are doing     /           are   swimming 

Sometimes the spelling of a main verb changes: swim --> swimMing

Have a look at the house in the picture on p. 43.
There are a lot of activities going on in this house.
Write down 8 sentences about what is going on in the picture. Use the Present Continuous in each sentence!

Examples: Mum is doing the dishes.
My sister is walking the dog right now.

Presentation
You are going to do a mini-presentation. 
Choose an animal and tell us about it. You have 3 options:

  1. You can choose to keep it a mystery and tell us about your animal but not tell which animal it is! We’ll have to guess.
  2. You can also choose a very rare animal.
  3. You can make up an fantasy animal yourself and use your imagination.
