You use the present continuous to talk about actions happening at the moment of speaking.

- He is laughing at me at the moment.
- I am reading the newspaper right now.

How to form the present continuous?
Subject + to be + infinitive + -ing

I + am + teaching

She + is + baking

They + are + running

Three rules form verb + -ing
 infinitive + -ing

verbs ending in a consonant -e = -e + -ing

one - syllable verbs ending in a short vowel + a single consonant = double the consonant + -ing
