Present continuous

We praten over de ‘present continuous’ als we het hebben over iets waar je momenteel (nog) mee bezig bent. Het is dus al begonnen en nog niet afgelopen.

Voor het vormen van de present continuos heb je de vormen van 'to be' nodig. Welke 3 zijn dat ookal weer?

Hoe vorm je dan de present continuous?

Is/are/am + ww + ing

Hoe ziet het er dan uit in een zin:

I am reading a book right now.

She is dancing for hours now.

My classmates and I are working on a project for days.

Negatief? Je voegt dan ‘not’ toe. Isn’t – aren’t – am not

I am not showering, I think your brother is.

Toekomst

We gebruiken de present continuous ook als we praten over iets wat afgesproken staat voor in de toekomst.

VB: I’m playing tennis with my brother at seven o’clock

In the morning, my dad is taking me to tennis lessons.

Dus: de afspraak staat vast in de nabije toekomst.

Present simple 

De present simple (tegenwoordige tijd) gebruik je bij feiten, gewoontes en ‘vaste’ rituelen. De present continuous gebruik je als je over iets praat dat momenteel nog bezig is of een afspraak in de nabije toekomst.

Present simple = ww (+ s bij shit-rule)

Signaalwoorden: "always, never, every day etc" 

Je gebruikt de present simple + onderwerp is een it. Wat gebeurd er dan met het werkwoord? (bijv: work)

Je hebt een present continuous en het onderwerp is 'my parents'. Vervoeg: work
