Present simple & present continuous
Two ways of talking about something that is happening NOW:
I teach this class or I am teaching this class

Present simple: to talk about facts, habits or things that happen regularly.
He goes to school every day. 

Present continuous: to talk about something that is happening at the moment or about what someone is doing right now.
She is listening right now.

So what exactly is the difference?
Present simple           Present continuous
When? Happening right now or soon, annoyance & irritation

How? am/are/is + verb + -ing

It is raining.
We are visiting England this summer.
My dog is always barking.

Signal words: right now, at the moment, at this time
When? Habits, facts, things that happen regularly

How? he/she/it + -(e)s

The sun rises in the East.
I never get up early at the weekend.
We have English at 3 o'clock.

Signal words: always, often, usually, sometimes, never
