  • Dependence/Overreliance: Relying on AI may lead to a loss of skills and decision-making abilities among users, resulting in dependence on AI systems for everyday tasks.
  • Inequality and Access: AI's most powerful tools will likely continue to run on expensive hardware. if the poor have less access to AI than the rich, this could make inequality even worse.
  • Fairness: AI's training can create biases. Using it for decisions in hiring, lending, and criminal justice is impossible in 2024.
  • Privacy: AI's use of personal data raises privacy issues, including surveillance and data breaches.
  • Transparency: Many AI algorithms are, "black boxes," so it's hard to understand or challenge the decisions.
  • Responsibility: Questions about who is responsible for AI actions as it gets more autonomy.
  • Job Displacement: AI automation may lead to unemployment.
  • Security Risks: AI systems are susceptible to attacks and manipulation, posing risks to security and privacy.
  • Human Relationships: Excessive reliance on AI may reduce social connections and empathy.
  • Environment: Energy consumption of AI contributes to carbon emissions.
