Maken en gebruiken
Maken:  Have/has + Voltooid deelwoord
                                        (ww + ed, of 3e onregelmatige werkwoorden)

Gebruiken:
1. Iets dat in het verleden is begonnen en doorgaat in de toekomst:
     > They have been married for 10 years.
2. Praten over ervaring uit het verleden tot nu toe: 
     > Marc has seen that film twice before. 
3. Iets dat in het verleden is gebeurt en belangrijk is voor het heden:     
     > I cannot enter my house because I have lost my keys.

Welke van de twee gebruik je wanneer? 

1. I have known Julie for ten years.
2. I knew Julie ten years 

3. I can't enter my house, I have lost my keys.
4. I lost my keys yesterday, it was terrible!

5. I have seen John this week.
6. I saw John last week.

1. Iets dat in het verleden is begonnen en doorgaat in de toekomst:
     > They have been married for 10 years.

2. Praten over ervaring uit het verleden tot nu toe:
     > Marc has seen that film twice before.

3. Iets dat in het verleden is gebeurt en belangrijk is voor het heden:
     > I cannot enter my house because I have lost  my keys. 
Past Simple
1. Iets dat in het verleden afgelopen of afgerond is.
   > They were married 10 years before they                  seperated. 

2.  Praten over ervaring uit het verleden die niet meer zal voorkomen:
    > I got expelled twice during high school. 

3. Afgeronde actie/gebeurtenis in het verleden:
   > I lost my keys yesterday, it was terrible!

Handy tips:

Makkelijkste manier om te controleren is jezelf de vraag te stellen: Is de actie (het werkwoord) volledig afgrond in het verleden?        Ja: Past Simple     Nee: Present Perfect
