A brief history:
  • In the 1300 it became illegal (sodomy, punished by death).
  • In 1811 it became legal in Holland.
  • In 1911 a law was passed to raise the legal age for gay sex to 21, but hetero sex was 16.
  • In 1971 this law was cancelled.
  • Since 2001 gay couples may get married.

The LGBTQ+ society fights for acceptance to this day.
