IT Service Strategy Tips
Prioritize the requirements, colour coding may work well here. We can print your pages in colour.
Remember to link everything back to your scenario.
You can be general at this point, but it is better to be as specific as possible, you will need this for activity 2 and will also save you space.

Software Needed?

Slide 10 - Mind map

Activity Two-
List of stakeholders:
  • What roles/jobs does each stakeholder need to complete
  • What Hardware/Software is required for the stakeholder to complete their job/role
  • Need to then describe how the Hardware and Software will be used – this is your justification
  • Detailed e.g. specific type of computer
  • Needs to be specialised
  • Needs to be understood by a non-IT specialist
  • Consider the future developments outlined in the case study as well as security issues.
  • For your notes you are not going to be able to list ALL the hardware and software. Some are easy to remember e.g. Windows   11 but for the more specialise you will need to outline the description in your notes.

Remember you need to be RESEARCHING the scenario and understanding what is used in REAL LIFE within this area – that is the difference between MB2 and MB3.

Activity 3- IT Service Delivery Solution
A network diagram is required:
  • What rooms are required
  • What hardware is required in each
  • How is everything connected together – think of wired and   wireless
  • Think of your network equipment
  • You should also outline how software comes into the network diagram via annotations.

Notes – Different Rooms, Software and Hardware Required in each. What is wired and wireless. Internal and External communications i.e. Internet.

Activity 5- Management Implications
Key Notes:

  • You have a template for this Activity outlining the areas that need covered.
  • You need to consider how your proposed solution will impact the scenario.
  • Remember to focus on how you feel the business will respond to the changes.
  • Notes – Consider the implications to any business of the new recommendations.
  • What will the business need to put in place for the solution to be successful: Training, Permissions for working from home

Independent Task:
The last few slides have given you an overview of what should be included in your notes. I would now like you to make a full set of notes for June 2024 exam.
You may have already started this but now use the notes to go back through and make sure you have covered all Activities.

You will be using these notes then as we go through the remainder of the activities.
