Start by recalling the main events and experiences.

How did you handle group work, conflict, or fitting in?

What were your favorite moments?

Example:

"At first, I found math difficult, but by the end of the year, I improved and felt more confident. I also joined the drama club, which helped me make friends outside my class."

What Were the Challenges?

Be honest about what was hard.

What was difficult to adjust to?

How did you deal with setbacks or stress?

Is there something you wish you'd done differently?

Example:

"I struggled with keeping up with homework when I had sports practice. I sometimes left things to the last minute."

Set Goals for Next Year

Use what you’ve learned to guide your next steps.

What would you like to improve or continue doing?

Are there new things you'd like to try?

Example:

"Next year, I want to manage my time better and maybe join the science club. I also want to participate more in class discussions."

"My first year of secondary school was full of new experiences. At the beginning, I was nervous about fitting in and managing my workload. Over time, I became more confident, especially in English and Maths. I joined the Robotic club, which helped me meet new people and feel more involved. One challenge I faced was balancing schoolwork with my sports, and I often left assignments until the last minute. From this, I learned that time management is really important. Looking ahead, I want to get more organized and participate in the keepers training for my football club"

Task

Reflecting on your first year of secondary school is a valuable way to recognize growth, understand challenges, and set goals for the future.  Write about 70 to 120 words telling your future self what you have learnt this year and what you will continue to do next year and what you may change.
