Slide 3 - Mind map

The teacher has researched a real life example of this component of learning and embedded in a starter activity. Imagery brings life to the lesson with immediate effect.
1. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
2. Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
3. Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
4. Plan and teach well structured lessons
The teacher has ALIS data noted and read latest report to identify strength and weaknesses of individuals who are seated accordingly. They talk through the strategies that will make learning stronger throughout the year.
The teacher took home an exemplary year 12 folder over the summer holiday to identify what learning looks like from a student perspective. They have created a number of vocabulary builders to support in class and created display posters using this terminology in action. House points will be awarded for those that use it!
The teacher asks their mentor to look at the 4 resources they have found for the teaching of a unit of work and seeks guidance about which will aid in recall and which would work well as an independent learning aid. They create a knowledge organiser to support with a revision lesson.

Slide 4 - Drag question

The teacher uses a yellow background and lots of dual coding to minimise cognitive overload. The Microsoft Form always asks pupils about their perceived confidence with access to the teacher's resources.  The relationship with the TA is strong and they are well informed about the lesson plan.
8. Fulfil wider professional responsibilities
7. Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe leanring environment
6. Make accurate and productive use of assessment
5. Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
The teacher is keen to develop their knowledge of how to use hinge questioning effectively and loves exit tickets!
The teacher has consistent routines about lining up outside the classroom and ensuring that they speak respectfully to each other.
The teacher recognises that their are gaps in knowledge from primary school curriculum and sets up a fun club which gets year 13 students teaching the year 7 pupils at lunchtime!
