Bijvoeglijk naamwoord (adjective):
- Zegt iets over een zelfstandig naamwoord: mensen, dieren, dingen.

Bijwoord (adverb):
- Zegt iets over een werkwoord: lopen, praten, schrijven.
- Omschrijft meestal hoe iets gedaan wordt.
