Reading a book

GOAL

In today's lesson I want to learn more about your reading 'history' and your reading 'habits'.

With this information I want to see which books you might enjoy reading this year and next year.

The plan

The next 4/5 weeks I want you to read (at least!) one English book. I will offer around 20 minuten per week in class, in which case you will probably have finished your book (depending on the book you choose / the speed you read / the concentration you put into it) at the end of this/ week period.

The level 

Basic* (B1) 

School library: The devil and his boy / Granny /
The witches / The boy in the striped pyjamas /

Advanced** (B2) 

School library: The hunger games / Narnia

Expert*** (C1/C2) 

School/teacher’s/your library: A clockwork orange / 1984 / Brave new world / Romeo and Juliet/??

The selection

• Discuss with several classmates which books they can advise you.
• Have a look through the pile of books which book might suit you.
• Inform yourself through internet which book is best for you

The choice

Next week, you inform me of your book of choice.

NOTE! Don't just choose a book to get it over with! Be choosy/fussy/picky so you will read something you actually enjoy.
