Basic rules:      1f = f    or     f = 1f          and        -1h = -h         or       -h = -1h

4f + 3f = 7f

4f + f = 4f + 1f = 5f

7d - d = 7d - 1d = 6d

Next we will look at similar calculations, only now with quadratic tasks!

Which one is true?

1. -1v = -v
2. v + v = v
3. -v -v = 2v
4. -v + v = 0

Solution:

A.     -1v = -v  is correct, because '1' can be left out

B.     v + v = v  is wrong, because v + v = 1v + 1v = 2v

C.     -v - v = 2v  is wrong, because -v -v = -1v -1v = -2v

D.     -v + v = -1v + 1v = 0  is correct
