CONIFERS
  • Conifers seed producing plants

  • many are an evergreen and have needle-like leaves.
  • they have xylem for transport and support.
  • They do not have flowers, instead they have cones.

  • Flowering plants are seed producing plants:

  • They have flowers containing the reproductive organs.
  • Pollen is carried from one plant to another by insects of the wind.
  • The flowers make seeds after fertilization.

  • Mosses & Liverworts reproduce with spores:

  • They live in damp places.
  • They have thin leaves that lose water easily.
  • They do not have proper stems or roots.
  • They make tiny spores in stead of seeds.

  • They have strong stems, roots and leaves.
  • Their leaves have a waxy layer to cut down water loss.
  • They have tubes called xylem inside the plant. These transport water and support the plant.
