We use much with uncountable nouns.

Uncountable nouns are things we often have to measure       or weigh       . 
gasses: gas / air / oxygen
liquids: coffee / tea / water
small parts: sugar / rice / sand
uncountable = ontelbaar
noun = zelfstandig naamwoord (persoon of ding)
meisure = meten
weigh = wegen

We use much with countable nouns.

Countable nouns are things we can count. 
These words have a singular and plural       form.
one student / two students / thirty students

one star / a hundred stars / a million stars
