Grammar: ordinal numbers

Rangtelwoorden gebruik je om een volgorde aan te geven.

Een rangtelwoord maak je (bijna !) altijd door er

-th achter te zetten: fourth, seventh, sixteenth

Uitzondering

Kijk naar het plaatje? Welke rangtelwoorden zie je?

In het Engels schrijf je eerste, tweede en derde zo:

1st = first, 2nd = second, 3rd = third Dus geen -th maar een eigen vorm!

(en twenty-first, thirty-second, etc.).

Let op:

five - fifth

eight - eighth

nine - ninth

twelve - twelfth

twenty - twentieth

(thirty - thirtieth, forty - fortieth enz..)
