A few things to think about.....
The British usually have quite an indirect and polite style of communicating. On the other hand, Dutch communicate in a more open and direct way and can perceive the British as long-winded. At the same time, the British sometimes perceive the Dutch as rude and short-answered

British way: Be polite, and oh well beat around the bush a little. Hurt nobody’s feelings. Offend no one!

Your group creates a 3-4 minute retelling of your pilgrim’s tale ( this depends on your group size. Each person, should speak for about a minute). Choose ONE of these options:
  1. Act out the story (a short skit in Modern English)
  2. Modernize it (how would the tale sound in today’s world?)
  3. Turn it into a short poem, rap, funny dialogue
You can use props or costumes (like scarves, hats, or paper signs) to represent the characters. Make sure you assign roles: a narrator, actors (other pilgrims) and the "Chaucer" (Host) to introduce the tale!

TIP:
GET SOMEONE TO HELP FILM YOUR GROUP, AS THIS IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE LOADED UP TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM. ALTHOUGH THIS IS A GROUP ASSIGNMENT, THE GRADES ARE FOR INDIVIDUAL "USE OF SPOKEN ENGLISH".
This performance will physically take place while you are on your school trip in England - so make sure your “script” is finished before you leave.
