The use of shall

 It’s very common to use it in questions to make a suggestion about the future.

It is used with first-person subjects: 'I' and 'we'.

Shall I open the window?

Shall I carry that for you?

Going to:

 for intentions, predictions or plans you already have (you made your decision already).

Will:

Will is for intentions formed at the moment of speaking (promise, offer).
