Introduction to Past Perfect Tense
The past perfect tense is used to describe an action that was completed before another past action.
Forming the Past Perfect
Use 'had' + past participle of the verb. Example: 'She had finished her work before dinner.'
When to Use Past Perfect
Use it to show which of two past actions happened first. Example: 'By the time we got there, the movie had started.'
