  • Complete a pulled through cap service with supervision from tutor and technicians. - Including a full colour consultation to identify they key factors.

Understanding Developers.

List the 4 main principles we need to identify during a colour consultation.

Colour consultation principles:


  • Natural colour

  • Artificial colour

  • Percentage of White hair

  • Target Shade




Complete a colour consultation on a peer

Identify the above factors.

Pulled through highlights of lowlights.

  1. After carrying out your consultation, brush your clients hair back and ensure it is tangle free.

  2. Ensure the cap has talc powder inside to ensure the cap does not pull on the clients hair.

  3. Pull through chosen amount of hair through each hole.

  4. Using a comb, ensure all hair pulled through is brushed from root to tip.

  5. Apply chosen colour allow to develop and rinse of the colour.

  6. Apply conditioner to the hair before removing the cap - Carry out shampoo as normal.

Extension task

Reflect on feedback given to you over the previous weeks. Use this feedback to identify weaker skill sets and continue to develop these with support from tutor and technician.
