Extinction (uitsterving) or conservation (behoud)

Some animal species died out in the past. Think about the Dodo bird. The Dodo bird used to live on the island of Mauritius (an island next to Madagascar in the Indian Ocean). Also, a lot of other animal species have been threatened by humans (people build cities and towns which destroy animal habitat or hunt them for their meat). In order to gain an overview of their conservation status (status van behoud). They use different classifications to get an idea how much the animal species is threatened.

The Australian Koala Bear is a ________ species. Its habitat is endangered by forest fires (driven by climate change). However, there are still enough koala bears living in the wild. They need to be carefully tracked though.

Last lesson we learned to talk about the future (toekomst). We learned about which tense (tijd) we use in which situation... 

If you have plans for the weekend we typically use: 'am/are/is' + going to + infinitive form' for example..
