You know what separable and inseparable phrasal verbs are
You can use separable and inseparable phrasal verbs correctly
You can work on your homework, rather individually or in pairs

Prior knowledge
Phrasal verbs: a verb that has 2 or more words put together to create a new meaning
Example: hold on, turn off, let down, run out of, look up to, etc.

Particles: preposition (voorzetsel) or adverb (bijwoord)
Words that have a function, but not a lot of content
*often the last word of a phrasal verb - work out

Separable phrasal verbs
If a phrasal verb is separable, it means you can separate the phrasal verb and put the object in the middle.
With separable phrasal verbs, the object can come before or after the particle

Can you please turn off the lights?
Can you please turn the lights off?

When the object is a pronoun (her/it/them, etc.) it can only come before the particle

You need to write down the information

Now we replace ´the information´ for the pronoun ´it´

Inseparal phrasal verbs
With inseparable verbs, you can´t separate the two parts of a phrasal verb, they always remain together

The object in inseparable phrasal verbs always comes after the particle, even when it´s a pronoun
She looks after her dad
She looks after him

Inseparable phrasal verbs
Three-part phrasal verbs (look up to, look down on, etc) are always inseparable
