First conditional

Used to express the likely outcome of a possible condition.

Formed by;

If + Present Simple --> will + infinitive (no to)

First conditional

If + Present Simple --> will + infinitive (no to)

If it rains, we'll stay home.

If I work hard, I will pass my exams.

If we don't hurry, we'll be late.

If you're late, you won't be allowed in.

What's the difference between...

We'll go for a picnic.

We might go to the park.

We'll go for a picnic. --> certain

We might go to the park. --> uncertain

What's the difference between...

If it rains, we'll stay home.

When I get home, I will have a shower.

If it rains, we'll stay home. --> possibility

When I get home, I will have a 

shower. --> certainty
