What is the infinitive?
infinitive is the base form of a verb.
To + infinitive:

To be - I want to be free.

To go - We need to go, now!

To play - Would you like to play?


bare infinitive:

Be - Go now and be free.

Go - Could you go to the shop?

Play - Come out and play.

When do we use to + infinitive?
giving a command - I order you to sit still.
expressing desire - I would like you to have an apple.
questions including 'do' - Do you want to build a snowman?
negative sentence including 'do' - I don't want to hear your story.
giving a reason - I study english to become an english teacher.
