Unit 7.2 - Comparatives

Write the comparative, superlative, and 'as...as' adjectives into the table below.

Comparative adjecitves

• Used to compare 2 people or 2 things.

• 2 or more syllables = more

Example: 

Jumbo is bigger than Albert Heijn.

Black Bananas is more trendier than NIKE clothes.

Superlative adjectives

• Used to compare 1 thing in a group with all others in that group.

• 2 or more syllables = the most

Example:

Jumbo is the largest supermarket in the Netherlands.

Football is the most popular sport in the Netherlands.

Unit 7.4 - Future – “going to + verb” and the Present Continuous

Complete the text using the best form of the verbs in brackets: “Going to + verb” or Present Continuous. 

Going to

• future intentions

• something that you want and plan to do in the future

I am going to stay at my friends house next week.

Present continuous

• arrangements

• an agreement between two or more people about how something happens or will happen at a time later than now.

I am staying at my friends house tonight.

Going to

• signal words:

in one year, next week, tomorrow, soon

(no certainty)

Present continuous

• signal words

this afternoon

tonight / tomorrow 

the day after tomorrow

(certainty)

Choose will or won’t to complete these sentences. 

GRAMMAR - First conditional

Use the correct form of the verbs in THE BOX to complete the First Conditional sentences.

Future Predictions: will / won't

Affirmative (+)	I / You He / She / It / We / They	will
Negative (-)	I / You He / She / It / We / They	won't (will not)
Questions (?)	Will	you / he / she / it / we / they
Questions (?)	What / How / When	will

GRAMMAR - First conditional

Use the correct form of the verbs in THE BRACKETS to complete the First Conditional sentences.

First Conditional = Voorwaardelijke Zinnen

Something that will probably happen in the future.

Hoofdzin = If + present simple	Bijzin = will + verb
If she studies hard ,	she 'll pass the test.
If I practise everyday ,	I will be a better striker.
If you wake up late,	you will be late for the bus.

First Conditional = Voorwaardelijke Zinnen

Sentence starts with will = no comma

will + verb	If + present simple
She 'll pass the test	if she studies hard.
I will be a better striker	if I practise everyday.
You will be late for the bus	if you wake up late

First Conditional = Voorwaardelijke Zinnen

Question sentences (vraagzin)
