Slide 1 - Tekstslide
Slide 2 - Tekstslide
What is the equator?
It is an imaginary line around the middle of the Earth.
Slide 3 - Tekstslide
There are rainforests in South America, South East Asia and Africa. All of these areas are close to the equator.
This is because there is plenty of sunshine and rainfall near the equator.
Slide 4 - Tekstslide
The rainforests are very important to the world.
The vegetation there (trees and plants) take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen for us to breathe.
Slide 5 - Tekstslide
The rainforests contain rare plants that give us a quarter of all the natural medicines in the world.
Slide 6 - Tekstslide
Many different species of animals live in the rainforests including some that we have not even discovered yet.
