Female suffixes

The world is changing. People want gender neutrality  (learn this 

In English, the suffix -ess indicates that the person doing a job is a woman.

- actress - air hostess - manageress - waitress - 

Now it is more usual to use the same term for both men and woman. 

- actor- flight attendant- manager - waiter - 

Nowadays, we use more neutral words - police officer instead of policeman or policewoman

• Decide which jobs involve:

a. helping or looking after children

b. working with small children or babies.

c. working with heavy machinery.

d. getting dirty
