When do we use "to do"?
Rule 1: Questions
Use do/does for present simple questions
❌ except "to be"
Examples:
Do you like chocolate?
Does she play the piano?
Are you tired? --> no "do"!
Rule 2: Negatives
Use do/does not for present simple negatives
Examples:
He does not eat meat.
They don't watch TV.
Rule 3: WH-questions
Wh-word + do/does + subject + verb
Examples:
What do you want to eat?
When does she leave?
Rule 4: No "do" when there is another auxiliary
If the verb has am/is/are, was/were, have/has, will, can
--> NO "do"
Examples:
What are you doing?
Where have you been?
Is the teacher here?
