Different map types

There are different types of maps. They all have different functions.

1. Political Map

A political map shows the shape and sizes of countries/regions. You can easily distinguish different countries/provinces in this type of map.

A physical map shows mountains, rivers, lakes and other physical features.

3. Thematic Map

A thematic map shows everything about a particular place, like climate, tourism, industry, culture and many other subjects.

A mental map shows a person’s point-of-view of an area. The locations and distances don’t have to be accurate.
