Introduction – Talking about Daily Routines
Welcome to today’s lesson! We will talk about something you do every day: your daily routine. This means things like getting up, eating breakfast, going to school or work.
But why is this important in English?
Maybe you will work in a store, office or in a warehouse. You may talk to a foreign colleague or customer. It is good to know how to say what you do in a day. This helps you to speak clearly, be professional, and feel more confident.

Key Verbs for Daily Routines
These verbs are used every day. Learn them well!
get up
I get up at 7 o'clock.
go to work / school
She goes to work by bus.
have breakfast / lunch
We have lunch at 12.
arrive
He arrives at 8.30.
Signal Words — How Often?
Signal words tell you how often something happens. Choose 8 words and make a sentence!
Use these words with the present simple tense.
always, usually, often — very regular
sometimes — not every time
never — not at any time
every day / week / month — specific time
Example: I always get up at 7. She sometimes goes to the gym.

Exercise 1 — My Routine
Write parts of your daily routine in English. Use I for yourself and He / She for someone else.

He / She gets up at 6.30.

He / She arrives at Talland College.
I go to work by bike.
He / She goes to work by car.
I have breakfast at 7.30.
He / She has breakfast at 8.
💡 Remember: With he, she, it → add -s or -es to the verb!
Exercise 2 — A Classmate's Routine
Now write about a classmate. Ask them: "What time do you get up? How do you go to school?"

Subject + Verb — The Rule
Add -s / -es
He / She / It
Use base verb
I / You / We / They
With I, you, we, they → use the base verb. With he, she, it → add -s or -es.
