Grammar 4: Past Perfect

Een actie die al is afgelopen voor een andere actie in het verleden. Let dus op wat als 1e gebeurde, die actie krijgt
"had + werkwoord + ed" (of het 3e rijtje bij onregelmatig)

"He had already used his last tissue, before he sneezed."
"I ate dinner after I had played outside".
"We had put our shoes on when it started to rain"

Grammar 5: Prepositions of Time

on           = dagen & data             
                    (on Monday, on the 6th of November)
in             = maanden, jaren, seizoenen, dagdelen
                     (born in 2001, we have a meeting in May)
at             = specifieke tijdstippen en feestdagen
                     (at four o'clock, at Christmas, at Easter)

Grammar 5: Prepositions of Place

on           = oppervlaktes, openbaar vervoer, wegen, rivieren
                    (on the table, got on the bus, on Fifth Avenue)
in             = algemene plekken, steden, landen, regio's
                     (in France, in the classroom)
at             = specifieke locaties, bepaalde bekende plekken
                     (at the station, at the corner of the street)

Grammar 6: Active vs. Passive

Lastigste onderdeel - gaat om het omdraaien van de zin: 
- Actieve zin: focus is op het onderwerp
   "I clean the kitchen. "
   "She was playing the piano."
- Passieve zin: focus op de actie / het voorwerp
   "The kitchen is cleaned (by me)." 
   "The piano was being played (by her)."

Vorm van "be" komt erbij
en werkwoord krijgt +ed (of 3e rijtje)

present simple    "I clean the kitchen"   "The kitchen is cleaned"
past simple            "I cleaned the ..."         "The .. was cleaned"
present contin.    "I am cleaning..."          "The ... is being cleaned"
past contin.           "I was cleaning..."       "The .. was being cleaned"
present perf.         "I have cleaned..."       "The ... has been cleaned"
past perfect           "I had cleaned..."        "The ... had been cleaned"
