What is an observation

Burner (components)

• air control
• gas control
• barrel or chimney
• base and rubber tubing

Flame types

Yellow flame = interim (pause) flame, used during breaks

Colourless (silent) flame is used to heat small amounts

(Blue) Rustling flame is used to heat large amounts

Different types of flames

from left to right:

1.                 interim flame: 

    air control closed, yellow, no noise, used  

    when not heating anything

2 and 3.    silent flame

    air control slightly open, no noise, pale blue,

    used to heat something

4.                 rustling flame

     air control fully open, noise, blue with cone 

     in the middle, used to burn something
