At the end of this lesson you can:
- use "can" correctly in a sentence
- use "able to" correctly in a sentence

"Can"
Use when talking about a skill.

Examples:
- He can ride a bike.
- He can swim very well.
- She can play the guitar.

When writing a negative sentences (ontkennende zin) you write "cannot" or "can't"

Could
"Could" is the past tense of "can"

Use when:
- The sentence is in the past.

to be able to
use when: 
- some is capable of doing something.

Examples:
- I am able to come to your party.
- I am able to fix the car in time.
- I am able to do the homework tonight.
When writing a negative sentence:

use "am not", "are not" or "is not" + able to + verb or "unable to" + verb

examples: 
- I am not able to fix that car in time.
- They are not able to be there in time.
- He is unable to meet us there.

In the past tense you use:
- were, was, weren't, or wasn't
- +able to + verb

examples:
- They were able to come over yesterday.
- I wasn't able to do my homework.
- She was able to fix the car in time.
When asking a question:
- form of to-be at the start of sentence.
 
examples:
- Were you able to fix the car?
- Is he able to raise enough money?
- Are they able to buy enough food?
