Rules for word order
* adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never) are placed before the main verb or after the form of 'to be'.
* Place before time.

Use: Have and have got mean the same. Have got is less in formal ( we use it when we speak or send a text message but not so much when we write).

When have + noun express an activity or a  habit, have (not have got) is used. 
Look at these sentences:

I have a shower every day. 
NOT I have got a shower every day.
What time do you have lunch?
NOT What time have you got lunch?

In the past tense we use had with did and didn't.

I had a dog when I was young.
Did you have a nice weekend?
I didn't have any money when I was a student.

Present Simple and Present Continuous: State verbs 
Some verbs express a state, not an activity and are usually used in the Present Simple only.
She likes the Rolling Stones. 
Not: She is liking the Rolling Stones. 
I know what you mean.
NOT: I'm knowing what you mean. 
Similar verbs are;  think, agree, understand, love.
