  • Use a clear and descriptive subject

  • Use the right interpunction and spelling

  • Begin your e-mail with dear Ms / Mr [name] or dear reader




  • Start with why you are mailing (introduction)

  • Close with "I am looking forward to hearing from you"

  • End your e-mail with "sincerely" or "with kind regards


Write a clear message for the reader. This person needs to understand what is expected and what they need to do.
