Positive: Subject + base form of the verb

Negative: Subject + do/does + not + base form of the verb 
(e.g., I do not read books)

Positive: Subject + am/is/are + present participle (verb + -ing)

Negative: Subject + am/is/are + not + present participle (verb + -ing)
(e.g., They are not playing soccer.)
Questions: Am/Is/Are + subject + present participle (verb + -ing)
(e.g., Are you studying for the test?)
