Planned events : 

‘we’re going to work on this tomorrow’

Intention :

‘I’m going to pass this exam, no matter what’

Present Continuous

Experience/Evidence, Planned events/arrangements, Intentions

However, it is generally prefered to use the Present Continuous for planned events, and Going To for intentions!

Writing : Time capsule

In groups of three - four take 5 minutes to think of a list of items that should go into a time capsule.

Afterwards, every individual will write a scene a piece explainig how the future people of Earth will respond to opening the capsule and fining the items. ( 10 minutes)

When we're done you will read each others work and check if the future tenses are used correctly using the checklist.

In English : Decide which items you would put in a time capsule, aim for 8-12 items, so they have enough to react to!

Write a piece of text of about 70-80 words where talk about how the people of the future will repond!

Use each form of the future at least once:

- Going to + verb

- Present continuous

-Will + verb

Check if the following 3 were used correctly:

Present Continuous: Used for planned events ?

Going to : Used for intentions / prediction based on experience/ evidence?

Will : Used for promises/threats/ unplanned actions/ beliefs or predictions based on guessing?

I can use the future tenses to accurately describe situations in the future.
