Used to + verb

To talk about:

• past states that are no longer true
• past actions which happened regularly but do not happen anymore.

Write an affirmative sentence
with 'used to'.

Write a negative sentence or question with 'used to'.

Used to + verb

To talk about:

• past states that are no longer true
• past actions which happened regularly but do not happen  anymore.

We use the past simple to talk about actions that happened only once or not regularly, not 'used to'!

Do exercise 1+2 on p. 136.

Writing exercise

Write down questions that you would like to ask
your neighbour about their past habits/states/actions.

Write down as many as you can!

Remember to use 'used to'.

Speaking exercise

Decide who is person A and who is person B.

A asks questions, B answers them.

When time's up, switch roles.
