1. Use of the Past Simple
We use the Past Simple to talk about activities and events that happened in the past. We often say when they happened.

e.g. I visited Berlin last week.

irregular verbs → 2nd column of the table of the irregular verbs

Affirmative regular verbs

I cleaned my room. 
You cleaned your room.
He cleaned his room.

Negative regular & irregular verbs

Always use the auxiliary did (Past Simple of 'to do') and the infinitive (base form) of the verb for negatives.
There is no difference between regular and irregular verbs in negative sentences
