Present Simple

(wanneer gebruik je het? Wat is de vorm? De 'sh-it regel enz. Hoe stel je een vraag/ontkenning)

You use the present simple:

* facts                  The baby cries when it is hungry.

* habits                He never brushes his teeth.    

*key words (signaalwoorden)

always - never - sometimes - usually - often - every

present simple - QUESTIONS

* Vorm: DO/DOES + verb (hele werkwoord)

             

     

Do they have a big house?  (They have a big house.)

Does Tom eat breakfast at 7am?   (Tom eats breakfast...)

present simple - NEGATIVES

* Vorm: DO/DOES + not / n't + verb (hele werkwoord)

             

     

They do not / don't have a big house?  (They have a big house.)

Tom does not / doesn't eat breakfast at 7am?   (Tom eats breakfast...)

Present Continuous

Present Continuous / negative

I am not walking to school today.

You are not / aren't listening to music right now.

He/she is not/isn't talking to the teacher.

We are not/ aren't watching TV at the moment.

You are not/ aren't studying for your maths test.

They are not/ aren't reading right now.
