Passive & Active forms
De “Passive form” wordt als volgt gebruikt:

 1. Als we niet weten wie iets heeft gedaan
My purse has been stolen

2. Als het niet belangrijk is wie iets heeft gedaan
 These products were tested yesterday

Ms Veen teaches the students
  Ms Veen --> Het onderwerp
  Teaches --> Werkwoord/Verb
  The students --> Lijdend voorwerp/direct object

  The students --> het onderwerp
  Are taught -->  Zijn + voltooid deelwoord (to be + past participle)
  By the teacher -->  "By" + "agent" of de persoon of ding die de actie doet

Zo kun jij het ook bekijken:
Om er achter te komen of een zin actief is moet naar het onderwerp kijken.
  •  Als het onderwerp de doener van de actie is, dan is de zin in de active form
 Someone (doener van de actie) has stolen my purse
  •  Als het onderwerp de ontvanger van de actie is, dan is de zin in de passieve vorm
 My purse (ontvanger van de actie/lijdend voorwerp van de actieve zin) has been stolen

Causative: have
The Causative have indicates that the subject causes an act to be performed or a condition to come into being.

• I had my house cleaned.

Using a causative verb is similar to using a passive. The important thing is that the house is now clean. We don't focus on who did the cleaning.
