A sentence that is made up of an if-clause (condition) and a main clause (result)
We also call them 'if clauses'
Describes a situation that might happen or might have happened
There are 4 types of conditionals and they are made using different English verb tenses.

Real factual situations
(if + present simple, ... present simple)
If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils.
If it rains, the soil gets wet

Possible future action
